Adjusting & Adapting
Grace Under Pressure
Negin & Jeff were one of the last couples I met in person for a consultation. It seems like a lifetime ago and just the other day, all at once. I remember feeling excited to be working with them. Florals were central to their overall vision, and I am always on board for that! As 2020 unfolded, it became clear that we would need to push their wedding date to 2021. They handled all the changes with grace and understanding. We put a pause on their plans and hoped for better things ahead.
From Concept to Reality
The Vision
When we met, I asked Negin about her wedding design concept. She described the vibe as modern with a rustic touch, down to earth, welcoming, and fun. Greenery-dominant florals with pops of white and pampas grass would lay the foundation for the aesthetic of the day. Negin & Jeff also understood that creating their perfect wedding day meant hiring a team of dedicated and talented professionals. We were thrilled as always to work with My Perfect Wedding Assistant, Rein Fire Ranch, Act 3 Catering, Celebrity Cake Studio,Cort Party Rentals, and Megan Montalvo Photography.
Grounded & Welcoming
The Perfect Palette
When a wedding calls for this much greenery, we would normally turn to Southern Smilax to create the look. But this was a June wedding, and smilax is off crop in June. Instead, we brought in Italian ruscus, multiple eucalyptus varieties, and olive foliage. The floral palette included peonies, spray roses, sweet peas, garden roses, veronica, and queen anne’s lace, and just about everything was accented with pampas grass. Negin’s bouquet was a large modern cascade, and we designed smaller hand tied bouquets for the bridesmaids. The focal piece for the ceremony was a large circular arbor with an assymetrical design of pampas grass on one side and florals on the other, with a large floral arrangement at the base. We added striking pampas grass aisle markers on every aisle chair, and two large arrangements at the back of the aisle on top of wine barrels. For the reception, we installed a large floral chandelier over the dance floor and a lush greenery piece over the head table.
Perfect Little Touches
No Detail Overlooked
They say “it’s all in the detials,” and that was so true for this wedding. I always love large focal installations, but adding in layers of detail really makes a wedding stand out. We added florals to signs, accented the cake, and added a sprig of olive foliage to each place setting. But my favorite detail of the day was the floral accent we added to the swing. It set up the perfect photo op for this gorgeous couple and their guests! We love all of the weddings we do, but working for clients who love flowers as much as we do is always a special treat!
