Breanne and Colin are one of those couples that put people at ease. I was late to our first meeting (and I am never late, so I was totally flustered) and they were so kind and understanding. We had such a lovely time chatting about their wedding- and life in general! Breanne had such a clear vision, but also complete trust in my ability to bring it to life for her. As for Colin, he was one of the most interested grooms I’ve ever met with! Let’s just say that the flower meeting isn’t always one the groom is super interested in. I asked Breanne to share some thoughts about her wedding and her thoughts on working with Paisley Petals. Enjoy!

All of the stunning photos are by Ivy and Tweed Photography based out of Tacoma, WA.

What were some of your favorite moments of our wedding day?

“So many! Seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day was really special and more emotional than I thought it would be. Our ceremony was something that I was nervous about- we had to get a little creative since we didn’t follow any specific religious ceremony but it ended up being really personal and so us! I was glad that we took the time to incorporate elements that spoke to our relationship and to our personalities. It was also really special to have my aunt that flew in from Scotland do a reading for us. As cheesy as it sounds, everything turned out like a dream… I didn’t expect the vision in my head to come to life so perfectly, but it did and it was amazing. And finally, we really wanted to have a big dance party and we were definitely successful in that goal. We barely left the dance floor once we got started- so fun!”

What advice do you have to share with currently engaged couples?

“Get your vendors nailed down as early as possible so you can focus on the small details closer to the day of. Keep your DIY projects manageable and consider whether money savings from doing something yourself will outweigh the potential stress it might cause you. That being said, you can still save money on some things by getting creative with the vendors you select. For example: our cake and cupcakes came from QFC. I’m not a big cake person and I had a simple design in mind, so it seemed silly to spend thousands of dollars on a cake. Ours turned out so beautifully! It was what I wanted, plus they were delicious and cost me less than $200!! My day-of-coordinator told me to collect and transport things in clear plastic containers, which was really helpful. I also had a master list of all of my decor and where it was supposed to go. Having a day-of coordinator made things so smooth and easy on our wedding day, and I would definitely recommend hiring one.”

What are you two up to these days?

“We are enjoying married life in Ballard and love eating & drinking our way through the city, and spending time with friends & family. We are trying to plan a few trips in the next couple of years before we are ready to settle down and think about kids. For now, we are having fun being the cool aunt and uncle to our niece (who was our flower girl) and our new nephew.”

Finally, and thoughts you’d like to share about working with Paisley Petals?

“We were so happy with the way everything turned out! Paula blew my expectations out of the water. I didn’t have a super specific vision for our flowers, just some colors, a couple flowers I liked (but didn’t even know if they were in season), and a few pictures on Pinterest. The flowers that showed up on our wedding blew any expectations I had out of the water! They were so perfect and fit my vision for the wedding to a tee. I didn’t think I needed a lot in the way of flowers, but Paula over delivered and I’m so glad she did because it wouldn’t have been the same without the beautiful flowers we had. They were the finishing touch and contributed so much to how perfect everything turned out. And we got so many compliments!”

Thanks so much for sharing, Breanne and Colin! We wish you all the best in your new adventure as Husband and Wife!
