Alyssa & Drew

Alyssa & Drew

Worth the Wait

A Celebration of True Love

I have known Alyssa for basically her entire life. Our parents are lifelong friends.  I’ve reached the stage in my career that I am starting to design weddings for people I knew when they were babies! We won’t talk about how old that makes me feel. I remember meeting with Alyssa and her mom- it was January of 2020 and one of my very last meetings before the pandemic hit. We worked on solidifying her vision for her elegant, champagne wedding at farm 12. Alyssa and Drew have been together forever, and it was so fun to finally be planning their florals! Of course, we all know what happened after that. Alyssa and Drew made the tough decision to wait one more year so that they could have the kind of wedding they were dreaming of. As disappointing as that was, it was definitely worth the wait!

Timeless Elegance

Classic Beauty with a Modern Vibe

Even with a year of postponement, Alyssa’s wedding vision never changed.  She wanted timeless elegance with a champagne and white palette. Subtle accents of blush, silver and glass. I designed her florals with a mix of white garden roses, taupe quicksand roses, blush spray roses, white gomphrena, white astrantia, white dahlias, italian ruscus, broad leaf dusty miller, gunnai eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus. The result was a floral palette that was elegant, sophisticated, natural and garden-inspired.

Alyssa and Drew had their ceremony in the Farm 12 Greenhouse with our circular arbor as their floral focal point. We draped it with a garland of greenery and blooms and added 2 low arrangements in wooden boxes on the stage. For their reception, we designed classic, full floral centerpieces in glass compotes. With the stage set for a beautiful day, Alyssa and Drew exchanged vows and celebrated with family and friends, just the way they had envisioned it. Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Belcourt!

Blog A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of donating some centerpieces to the Young Life "Palate of the Plateau" event. I love this event because I'm given total creative freedom. They auction off the centerpieces, so it's good for them to be different to appeal to...

Stop The Madness!!

BlogI'm working on a really fun wedding this weekend with mostly green flowers. While I was out in the shop, I was reminded of one of my least favorite occurances in the floral world: the dyed green carnation. Having just recently celebrated St. Patrick's day, the...

Featured Flower Friday: Lisianthus

Blog Lisianthus (or lizzy as it is often called in florist land) is one of my favorite flowers to use in hand-tied bouquets for weddings. It has an almost rose-like look at a nowhere near rose-like cost. I love it's papery ruffled blooms- they add just the right touch...
